NIGHT OF SKYSCRAPERS IN DIUNA
During this year’s Night of Skyscrapers, we had the honour of presenting Diuna complex, which, after revitalisation, has become a symbol of sustainable development and harmony with nature. The event attracted a large group of participants, who had the opportunity to discover a unique combination of architecture, art and ecology.
All three tours were led by architect Maciej Zawadzki, who knows Diuna inside out. He personally presented the concept of revitalisation and the innovative solutions used in the complex. The audience had the opportunity to learn about the background of the project, find out more about the pro-environmental solutions used, and watch a presentation on urban climate islands, which sparked many questions and interesting discussions.
After a solid dose of information, we set off into the field. Participants had the opportunity to see, among other things, a fogger providing natural cooling and chill-out zones conducive to relaxation. After passing along the cycle path connecting the complex with the surrounding network of routes, visitors soaked up the atmosphere of flower meadows with insect hotels and a stream using a closed water cycle.
Then, as the guide joked, the guests moved from Mordor to the Shire. This was thanks to the interior of Lobby A, where the architects created a cosy atmosphere with soft forms and a view of subtle ‘hills’.
The tour culminated with a visit to the terrace on the 9th floor. It may not be the highest point on the Night of Skyscrapers map, but it offers a double panorama of Warsaw – and what a view!
Diuna is a space open 24/7, ready for living, working and relaxing at any time. We would like to thank everyone who joined us that evening for their presence and commitment, as well as their insightful questions and keen interest in the Diuna complex.
We would like to thank Maciej Zawadzki for his inspiring tour and the security team for their organisational support. We congratulate the organisers, the NowaWarszawa.pl portal, on the spectacular return of Night of Skyscrapers and thank them for allowing us to be part of it.
